ClickUp pricing

Pricing breakdown Project Management

ClickUp is per-user - $7 (Unlimited) or $12 (Business) billed yearly - with a genuinely usable free plan and a 30-day money-back guarantee. What buyers misjudge is AI: Brain costs an extra $9-$28 per user, so the cheap PM tool can double once AI is switched on.

The 6 costs ClickUp does not lead with

Seats, overages, add-ons and the annual-commitment clause — the lines that turn a list price into an invoice. This is the part worth reading twice before you sign.

AI is not included in any plan: ClickUp Brain is a $9/user/month add-on (1,500 AI credits) and Everything AI is $28/user/month (5,000 credits, notetaker, image generation) - on Business that can more than double the per-user bill.

Extra AI credits cost about $10 per 10,000 ($0.001/credit), so agent-heavy usage keeps metering after the add-on fee.

Guest overage auto-charges: if you exceed your permission-controlled guest seats (5 + 2/member on Unlimited; 10 + 5/member on Business) and invite another guest, ClickUp automatically adds a paid member seat to your bill.

The whole Workspace must be on one plan - you cannot licence Business for 5 power users and leave 20 others free; every owner, admin, member and limited member is a paid seat.

Free-plan 'usage limits' never reset: advanced features come with a finite number of uses, and once consumed the feature locks permanently until you upgrade.

The 30-day money-back guarantee applies only to your first paid subscription; afterwards, plans auto-renew and no refunds are offered.

Room to move

How to pay less than list

First, the annual maths is unusually strong: Unlimited drops from about $10 to $7/user/month billed yearly ($36/user/year saved) and Business from about $19 to $12 ($84/user/year - a 10-person team keeps $840). ClickUp advertises 'save up to 30% with yearly' on core plans and up to 20% on AI plans. Second, use the documented 30-day satisfaction guarantee as a genuine trial of annual: ClickUp's help centre commits to a full refund within 30 days of your first paid subscription, including add-ons - so buy annual, test hard for three weeks, and refund if it doesn't stick. It only applies to your first purchase, so don't waste it on a token month. Third, price AI before you commit, not after: Brain adds $9/user/month and Everything AI $28/user/month, with extra credits at about $10 per 10,000. A 10-person Business workspace with Everything AI is roughly $400/month - more AI than project management - so pilot the included AI trial on Free/paid plans and count real credit burn first. Fourth, run guest hygiene before every renewal: exceeding your permission-controlled guest allowance silently adds paid member seats. Converting finished-project guests to view-only or removing them from Teams claws those seats back. Fifth, remember the whole Workspace upgrades together - audit and remove inactive members before renewal because every member-type user is billed. Finally, Enterprise is the only negotiable tier: there's no public price, so bring a monday.com or Asana quote, commit seats for 12+ months, and ask for SAML/SCIM and the 250,000-automation cap at a per-user rate near Business - that gap is where sales teams have room.

Find your tier

Which plan is actually yours

Matched to the limits that bite first, not to the tier the vendor highlights on its own pricing page.

Solo founder

→ Free Forever

Unlimited tasks and members at $0 is the most generous free tier in project management; the 60MB storage cap and one-time feature-use limits are the only real walls, and $7/month fixes both when you hit them.

Small team (5-15)

→ Unlimited (annual)

$7/user/month annually buys unlimited storage, Gantt, time tracking and integrations - at 10 users that's $840/year, and the 30-day money-back guarantee de-risks the annual commitment.

Scaling company

→ Business (annual)

Automations (5,000/month), unlimited dashboards, Google SSO and the larger guest allowance suit client-facing teams; hold Enterprise for when SAML/SCIM, audit logs or HIPAA become non-negotiable, and negotiate it.

ClickUp pricing FAQ

The questions that decide which plan you end up on.

Ask us something else

Yes - Free Forever, with unlimited tasks and unlimited members, which is rare. The catches: 60MB storage and one-time usage allowances on advanced features that never reset once consumed.

Annual, if you're staying: Unlimited is $7/user/month yearly versus about $10 monthly, Business $12 versus about $19. ClickUp advertises up to 30% yearly savings, and the 30-day money-back guarantee covers your first annual purchase.

The annual toggle (up to 30% off core plans, up to 20% off AI plans) is the only self-serve discount; there are no public coupon codes. Enterprise pricing is custom and genuinely negotiable with volume and term commitments.

No - AI is a per-user add-on: Brain at $9/user/month (1,500 credits) or Everything AI at $28/user/month (5,000 credits, AI notetaker, image generation). Extra credits run about $10 per 10,000.

No. Each Workspace is upgraded as a whole and users cannot be on different plans within one Workspace - every owner, admin, member and limited member is a billed seat.

Unlimited includes 5 permission-controlled guest seats plus 2 per member; Business includes 10 plus 5 per member. Exceed the allowance and inviting another permissioned guest automatically adds a paid member seat. View-only guests don't count.

A documented 30-day satisfaction guarantee: full refund within 30 days of purchasing your first paid subscription, including add-ons. After 30 days no refunds, and subscriptions auto-renew.

60MB total storage, 1 form, basic custom fields, and finite 'uses' of advanced features (like certain views and Doc tags) that don't reset monthly - your data stays intact when a limit hits, but the feature locks until you upgrade.

Every figure on this page is the vendor's own published rate at the time we read the rate card (5 Jul 2026). Where a tier is sold by quote we say so rather than guess a number. The pricing score rates the pricing model, not the product — the product is scored separately on its own rubric.
