About Claap

Quick answer: Claap has a genuinely free Basic plan (€0 forever) and gives exactly 20% off annual billing — Pro drops to €24/licence/month and Business to €48 (US: $32 and $60). Two things to get straight before you buy: the free plan's 300 minutes and 10 videos are lifetime totals, not monthly, and the Agent Gallery and Claap MCP — the reason most people come here — require the Business plan, not Pro.

What Claap actually is

Claap is an AI meeting recorder that grew into a revenue intelligence platform. It captures your calls, emails and even in-person meetings, turns them into AI notes and CRM updates, scores deals against sales methodologies, coaches your reps — and then, unusually, hands that entire sales context to your AI tools through a hosted MCP server. That last part is what separates it from the crowd of AI notetakers.

It also kept its original DNA: Claap started as an async video tool, and screen-and-cam recording, video editing, annotations, comments and channels are all still first-class. So it's simultaneously a Loom-style async video workspace and a Gong-style conversation-intelligence tool — a genuinely unusual combination. Transcription runs across 99+ languages. Claap says 10,000+ sales reps use it, and it joined lemlist in October 2025 at around 700 customers.

The Agent Gallery — the real story

This is the headline feature, and it deserves precision. Claap's Agent Gallery is a set of ready-to-run AI agents that pair your Claap recordings with MCP servers you already use — Slack, HubSpot, Notion, Google Drive, Ahrefs — with Claude as the reasoning layer. They're essentially recipes: each agent publishes the exact MCP stack it chains together, and you filter them by role (AE, Sales Manager, RevOps, CS, Product, Marketing).

There are nine agents in the gallery today:

  • Keyword Researcher — mines terms, topics and competitors from your calls, ranks them by search demand vs difficulty (Claap + Ahrefs + Claude)
  • Customer Onboarding Deck Builder — persona-specific onboarding decks built from closed-won deals (Claap + Claude + HubSpot + Google Drive)
  • Sales Deck Builder — a branded, prospect-specific deck in about a minute, built from the pain points and quotes in the call
  • Win/Loss Analyzer — weekly win/loss readout mined from transcripts, posted to Slack
  • Battlecard Generator — competitor battlecards grounded in real prospect quotes
  • Objection Dashboard Builder — an interactive monthly objection dashboard with verbatim quotes and trends
  • Customer Story Writer — a full customer-story page per won deal, with quotes, ROI metrics and timeline
  • Sales → CS Handover — a one-page handover per closed deal: stakeholders, commitments, success criteria, risks
  • Sales Meetings Daily Recap — a morning Slack recap of yesterday's calls, deep-linked to the exact moment in the recording

They're genuinely useful and clearly built by people who know revenue teams. Two honest notes, though. Nine is the real number — it's a curated gallery, not a marketplace of hundreds. And there's no no-code agent builder inside Claap: because the agents are MCP recipes, you build custom ones in your AI client (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, n8n) against Claap's MCP tools, not in Claap itself.

Claap MCP — the part that matters

Claap ships a real, hosted Model Context Protocol server. It puts your full sales context into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code or n8n, with OAuth or an API key and a genuinely quick setup. The toolset covers workspaces, companies, contacts, deals, emails, insight views, recording transcripts and meeting search — the last with three retrieval modes (semantic search over Claap's pre-labelled pain points, objections, feature requests and competitor mentions; keyword; and metadata) — plus publishing an artifact straight to a shareable Claap Slides page.

The design decision worth noting: Claap returns structured AI fields rather than raw transcripts, which is why it claims answers are "exact, sourced, identical every run" instead of drifting each time. Permissions carry over properly too — every search returns up to 100 results and only ever surfaces what you can already see, so private spaces stay private.

"No-bot" recording — read this carefully

Claap's homepage says every call is "captured with no bot", and there's a feature tag literally labelled No-bot Recorder. That's real: Claap can capture locally via its Mac desktop app or Chrome extension rather than joining your call as a participant, plus a mobile app for in-person meetings. For anyone who hates a robot sliding into a client call, that's a genuine differentiator over Fireflies and most rivals.

But don't read it as absolute. Claap's own MCP page marks bot-free desktop capture as Beta, and the pricing matrix sells "Bot Recorder Customization" as a paid Pro-and-above feature — so the bot still exists and is still part of the product. The desktop recorder is also Mac-only; there's no Windows desktop app listed. It works across Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams on every plan, including free.

Pricing in 2026 — and the tier that actually matters

Prices are geo-switched: EUR outside the US, USD inside. Annual billing is exactly 20% off — the toggle says so and the maths confirms it on every plan.

  • Basic — €0/$0, free forever. Calendar and conference sync, 99-language transcripts, basic AI summary, Chrome recorder, collaborative workspace. But: 10 videos and 300 minutes are lifetime totals, 3-month storage, 1 team, 1 channel, no AI credits.
  • Pro — €30/licence/month, or €24 annually ($40/$32). Unlimited recordings, 1,000 minutes per month, 500 AI credits per licence, advanced AI summaries, meeting insights, AI video editing, 2-year storage.
  • Business — €60/licence/month, or €48 annually ($75/$60). This is the real product: Claap MCP, the Agent Gallery, Claap AI across all meetings, CRM Auto-Complete, AI Coaching, Deal Insights and Smart Tables. Unlimited recording time, 1,000 AI credits per licence. Note the CTA is "Contact us" — it isn't self-serve.
  • Enterprise — custom. SSO (Okta), SCIM provisioning, Claap API, dedicated account manager.

Two things buried in the fine print. There's a Power Recorder add-on at $20 per seat/month for unlimited recording length — visible only in a tooltip. And licences mix: you can run paid Pro/Business seats alongside free Basic seats in one workspace.

One inconsistency to be aware of: Claap's own pricing page contradicts itself on Claap MCP — the yearly card lists it under Basic, while the monthly card and the full comparison matrix put it on Business and Enterprise only. Confirm what you're buying before you commit.

Beyond the agents

The rest is deep. CRM Auto-Complete (Business+) auto-fills custom fields and updates deal properties in HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio or Pipedrive. AI Coaching (Business+) reviews calls at scale with tailored scoring and advice, and there's an AI Coach for onboarding with pitch training and live flashcards. Deals get scored against MEDDIC, BANT, SPICED and SPIN, and extractors pull out objections, feature requests and customer quotes automatically. Integrations run wide: Slack, Notion, Aircall, Ringover, Linear, Zapier, Make, n8n, webhooks — and Gong itself is an integration, which tells you who they're chasing.

Where it falls short

Four honest caveats. The free plan is a demo, not a workflow — 10 videos and 300 minutes lifetime is roughly five hour-long calls, then it's over, and recordings vanish after 3 months. Everything that makes Claap special is Business-only: AI Coaching, CRM Auto-Complete, Deal Insights, Claap MCP and the entire Agent Gallery are all excluded from Pro, so Pro at €24 is "just" a good notetaker and the agents need the roughly-double tier that's gated behind a sales call. There's no self-serve trial of the paid plans — the FAQ tells you to contact sales, with no length stated. And Claap joined lemlist in October 2025 at ~700 customers, so roadmap independence is a fair question to ask.

Who should buy

Claap suits sales and revenue teams who want conversation intelligence without Gong money, and especially teams already living in Claude or ChatGPT who want their call data available to their own agents — that MCP server is the strongest reason to pick Claap over anything else here. Start on the free Basic plan to test transcription quality in your languages, but treat it as a trial rather than a tier. If you just want meeting notes, Fireflies is cheaper and has a far more generous free plan. If you want the agents, budget for Business at €48/licence annually and get the MCP inclusion confirmed in writing first.

Frequently asked

Is Claap free?
Yes — the Basic plan is genuinely €0/$0 per month forever, not a trial. It includes calendar and conference-call sync, 99-language transcripts, basic AI summaries, the Chrome recorder extension and a collaborative workspace. The catch: 10 videos and 300 recording minutes are LIFETIME totals rather than monthly allowances, storage lasts 3 months, and you get no AI credits. Treat it as an extended trial.
How much does Claap cost in 2026?
Pro is €30/licence/month, or €24 billed annually (US: $40 and $32). Business is €60/licence/month, or €48 annually (US: $75 and $60). Enterprise is custom. Annual billing saves exactly 20% on every plan. There is also a Power Recorder add-on at $20 per seat/month for unlimited recording length, and prices display in EUR outside the US and USD inside it.
Which Claap plan includes the Agent Gallery and Claap MCP?
Business and Enterprise. Every agent in the gallery runs on Claap MCP, and the pricing comparison matrix excludes Claap MCP from both Basic and Pro. So the agents need Business at €48/licence billed annually, which is a "Contact us" plan rather than self-serve. Note Claap contradicts itself here — its yearly pricing card lists Claap MCP under Basic while the matrix says Business+ — so confirm before buying.
What agents are in the Claap Agent Gallery?
Nine, as of now: Keyword Researcher, Customer Onboarding Deck Builder, Sales Deck Builder, Win/Loss Analyzer, Battlecard Generator, Objection Dashboard Builder, Customer Story Writer, Sales → CS Handover, and Sales Meetings Daily Recap. Each pairs your Claap recordings with MCP servers you already use (Slack, HubSpot, Notion, Google Drive, Ahrefs) with Claude as the reasoning layer, and each is filterable by role.
Does Claap record meetings without a bot?
Partly. Claap markets a "No-bot Recorder" and can capture locally through its Mac desktop app or Chrome extension instead of joining your call as a participant, plus a mobile app for in-person meetings. However, Claap labels bot-free desktop capture as Beta, and still sells "Bot Recorder Customization" as a paid Pro+ feature — so a bot recorder does exist. The desktop app is Mac-only. It supports Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams on all plans.
Is Claap a good Gong alternative?
For many teams, yes — it delivers conversation intelligence, deal scoring against MEDDIC/BANT/SPICED/SPIN, AI coaching and CRM auto-complete at €48/licence rather than enterprise pricing, and it adds a hosted MCP server that Gong does not offer. Claap publishes a direct Gong comparison and even integrates with Gong. The caveats: the revenue-intelligence features are Business-only, and Claap is a much smaller vendor (~700 customers, now part of lemlist).
What can Claap MCP actually do?
Claap MCP is a hosted Model Context Protocol server that exposes your workspace to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code or n8n via OAuth or an API key. Its tools cover workspaces, companies, contacts, deals, emails, insight views and recording transcripts, plus meeting search with semantic, keyword and metadata modes, and publishing artifacts to Claap Slides. It returns structured AI fields rather than raw transcripts, and only ever surfaces what your permissions already allow.
