SEO Content Strategist

  • Remote (worldwide)
  • full-time
  • $95K–$140K

About the role

SaaSTweaks indexes 12,000+ pages and ranks for 84,000+ commercial-intent keywords across the SaaS deal landscape. The SEO Content Strategist owns the keyword research, briefing, and on-page optimization that keeps the catalog growing organically. This role works closely with the Senior Editorial Writers (who own voice and accuracy) and the engineering team (who own the technical SEO surface).

What you will do

  • Build and maintain the editorial calendar. Identify 30-50 net-new high-intent keyword targets per month across deal, comparison, alternatives, and category page types.

  • Write detailed briefs for the editorial team: target keyword, secondary keywords, recommended outline, internal-link plan, and ranking competitors to study.

  • Own the internal-linking strategy. SaaSTweaks runs an automated internal-link engine (src/lib/seo/internal-link-strategy.ts) and the strategist tunes the heuristics monthly.

  • Monitor Search Console weekly. Catch ranking drops within 5 days, flag indexability regressions, and brief refreshes for declining pages.

  • Lead the quarterly content-pruning audit. Decommission, merge, or refresh pages that no longer earn their keep.

  • Work with engineering on technical SEO: structured data, sitemap health, internal redirects, Core Web Vitals.

What we need from you

  • 4+ years of SEO content strategy at a publication or programmatic-SEO site that ranks for at least 50,000 commercial-intent keywords.

  • Deep working knowledge of Search Console, Ahrefs (or Semrush), and at least one log-file analysis tool.

  • Strong opinions about briefing format and editorial-SEO collaboration. The role is measured by ranking outcomes, not the volume of briefs shipped.

  • Comfort reading and editing schema.org JSON-LD blocks. Most of the schema lives in src/lib/seo/schemas and is engineer-owned, but the strategist needs to know what is on the page and why.

  • Async-first communication style.

Nice to have

Prior work on a SaaS comparison site, B2B review marketplace, or category-page-heavy publication. Direct experience with programmatic SEO (10k+ pages from a single template) is a strong signal.
