editorial

Senior Editorial Writer (SaaS reviews)

  • Remote (worldwide)
  • full-time
  • $80K–$120K

About the role

SaaSTweaks publishes deeply researched SaaS reviews and head-to-head comparisons that founders and marketing teams trust during real buying decisions. The editorial team is 3 writers plus an editor-in-chief. The Senior Editorial Writer ships 4 long-form pieces a week — a mix of deal pages, comparisons, and category guides — each backed by hands-on product testing and primary research.

What you will do

  • Write 4 long-form pieces per week (deal review, comparison, alternatives hub, or category guide). Average length 2,000-3,500 words.

  • Spend 2-4 hours actually using each product reviewed. Take screenshots, log pricing edge cases, and test the onboarding flow as a new buyer.

  • Interview 2-3 customers per major review for primary quotes. The editorial team maintains a customer-quote database that the writer adds to.

  • Collaborate with the SEO Content Strategist on briefs. The strategist owns target keywords and ranking targets; the writer owns the angle, voice, and accuracy.

  • Edit one piece per week from another team member. Editing is a shared rotation across all senior writers.

  • Maintain the SaaSTweaks editorial voice: third person, specific, no marketing filler. The voice guide lives in docs/EDITORIAL.md and is enforced in PR review.

What we need from you

  • 5+ years writing professionally about SaaS, B2B software, or developer tools, with a portfolio of 20+ published long-form pieces.

  • Demonstrated track record of pieces that ranked organically (top 3 for a non-trivial keyword) or that drove measurable traffic.

  • Native or near-native English fluency. The voice guide is strict and the publication holds a high bar.

  • Comfort with the technical depth required to write credibly about CRMs, attribution platforms, hosting, dev tools, and analytics stacks.

  • Experience working under an editor and shipping fast. The publication cadence is 4 pieces per week, not one polished essay per month.

Nice to have

Bonus points for prior reviews work at G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, The New Stack, or a similar SaaS-focused publication. Direct experience as a SaaS founder or marketer is welcomed and tends to show up in the writing quality.

How we hire
