The video side takes an upload (or a one-click migration from Vimeo, Wistia or YouTube), runs AI-powered per-title compression, and streams it adaptively from 360p to 4K HDR10 over a multi-CDN network with 440+ points of presence — wrapped in a fully brandable, ad-free player with chapters, in-player CTAs, lead forms and analytics. The image side is a Cloudinary-style optimizer: automatic AVIF/WebP/HEIF conversion, network-aware compression and responsive resizing with unlimited processing requests. The scale claims are Gumlet's own homepage numbers: 3 billion+ media items delivered daily across 10,000+ apps and sites.

Security is unusually deep for the price band: password protection, geo-blocking, domain restriction, signed URLs, dynamic watermarks, and proper multi-DRM (Widevine + FairPlay) available as an add-on to any paid plan. AI subtitles are unlimited — even on the free tier.

Pricing in 2026 — what you'll really pay

Verified from the official pricing page: video plans are Free ($0 forever), Creator at $9/month or $6 billed annually (1,000 storage minutes, 3,000 GB bandwidth), Growth at $29 or $19 annually (3,000 storage minutes, live streaming to 2,000 min/month), and Business at $149 or $99 annually with the cheapest overages. That annual discount computes to 33–35% — genuinely about a third off. Image plans run separately: a free 30 GB/month tier, then Growth at $32/month and Business at $199/month billed annually (18–23% off). Enterprise is quoted, with uncapped live streaming and SSO.

The alternative math — Vimeo, Mux, Cloudinary

This is where Gumlet earns its keep. Against Vimeo, the features Vimeo gates to Enterprise — white-label player, advanced analytics, security controls — are included across Gumlet's plans, and DRM can be added to even the $6 Creator tier. Against Mux, Gumlet's own comparison claims per-minute pricing up to 4x more cost-efficient, because one flat fee covers encoding, storage, streaming and analytics instead of Mux's per-GB, per-resolution metering. Against Cloudinary, the image product covers the core optimization workflow at a fraction of the price. Where it shines

The free plan is a real product, not a demo: 4K HDR support, password protection, unlimited AI subtitles and monthly live-streaming minutes at $0 is unmatched in this category. The flat-fee model makes costs predictable where Mux-style usage pricing surprises you, and the platform breadth — hosting, live, DRM, analytics, image CDN — replaces two or three vendors for most teams.

Where it falls short

DRM is never bundled: it's a $99/month add-on on every self-serve plan, which stings on a $6 Creator subscription. All three paid video tiers share the same 3,000 GB monthly bandwidth base — Business mostly buys a cheaper overage rate ($0.06/GB vs $0.15), so heavy streamers pay overages regardless of tier. And plenty of niceties skip the entry plan: signed URLs, lead forms and AI chapters start at Growth, while watermarks and H.265 are Business-only.

Who should buy

Course creators, SaaS teams embedding product video, and publishers leaving Vimeo's price ladder are the sweet spot — start free, then take Creator or Growth annual where the ~34% discount does its work.
