What Looka actually does

Looka (formerly Logojoy) is an AI logo generator: type your company name and industry, pick a few styles, colours and symbols you like, and it generates custom logo options endlessly as you scroll. The editor then lets you tune colours, fonts, layouts, spacing and symbols. Nothing is charged until you decide to download — which is why "free logo maker" is technically true and practically a paid product.

Beyond the logo, the Brand Kit subscription auto-generates 300+ branded assets from your final design: social profiles and posts, business cards, email signatures, letterheads, invoices and brand guidelines, all pre-filled with your logo, colours and fonts. The Brand Kit Web tier adds an AI-generated website.

Pricing in 2026 — what you'll really pay

Premium Logo $65 one-time — high-res PNG plus EPS, SVG and PDF vectors, colour variations with transparent backgrounds, unlimited post-purchase changes, full ownership and lifetime support. The $20 tier deserves a plain warning: one low-res PNG can't go on print, signage or anything that scales. It exists to make $65 look reasonable — and honestly, $65 for full vector files is reasonable.

The ownership fine print

Looka's own FAQ is upfront: you own your final logo as a whole, but not the individual elements — symbols come from a shared library, so a similar-looking logo can legally exist elsewhere, and trademark registration is on you. For most small businesses that's a fair trade at this price; if unique-by-design matters, budget for a human designer instead.

Where it shines

Speed and the try-before-you-buy flow are the wins: a presentable logo with full brand files in under an hour, mockups on business cards and shirts before paying, and unlimited edits plus re-downloads after purchase (everything except the company name can change). The Brand Kit is underrated for solo founders — 300+ templates that would take weeks to produce by hand, pre-filled with your identity.

Where it falls short

The Basic tier is a decoy, the Brand Kit subscriptions auto-renew annually (one-time vs subscription confusion is common enough that Looka's FAQ addresses it), and the shared-symbol library means your mark will never be truly one-of-a-kind. Also worth knowing: Discover cards aren't accepted — Visa, Mastercard, Amex and PayPal are.

Who should buy

New founders who need a credible identity today: design free, and if you like what you see, the $65 Premium package is the correct purchase — full vectors, full ownership of the composition, no subscription. Take the $96/year Brand Kit only if you'll genuinely use the social templates and stationery; cancel-before-renewal discipline applies. Skip the $20 tier entirely.
